The XYZ CARGO BIKE is a two-wheeled cargo-cycle for transporting persons or goods in a fast way.
XYZ CARGO BIKE uses a completely new steering design, resulting in a flat layout of the whole cargo space as well as better handling characteristics. No unnecessary frame parts limit the possibility to carry large pieces of cargo with XYZ CARGO BIKE.
Compared to cargo tricycles, XYZ CARGO BIKE is more lightweight and slim, and thus easier to drive.

The XYZ CARGO BIKE was developed by N55 in collaboration with Till Wolfer and assistance from Jesper Rølund. It is based on the Open Source system XYZ SPACEFRAMES VEHICLES. XYZ SPACEFRAME VEHICLES is provided under the Creative Commons license CC BY-NC-SA 3.0 – users are free to use available designs, as long as it is for non-commercial purposes and any use of the work includes proper credits to N55 and Till Wolfer as well as a link to www.n55.dk).
Please note: The XYZ CARGO TRIKE and the XYZ CARGO BIKE has been developed as environmentally and socially sustainable products for sale and no construction drawings are available. Persons are of course still allowed to copy these models for non-commercial use. We also organize workshops to teach persons how to build their own XYZ SPACEFRAME VEHICLES. The earnings from the sale of XYZ CARGOs are used to finance the further development of the XYZ SPACEFRAME VEHICLES.
XYZ CARGO TRIKE
The XYZ CARGO TRIKE is a three-wheeled cargo cycle for transporting persons or even heavy loads in a stable way.
The cargo box of XYZ CARGO TRIKE is situated in the front, so the driver can always keep an eye on what’s happening inside. Several modules are available to be attached to the front box in order to extend the functionality of XYZ CARGO TRIKE.
Unlike traditional three-wheeled cargo cycles, the XYZ CARGO features a so called Ackermann-steering, which is usually only to be found in cars. This makes the XYZ CARGO easy to control even at high speeds and the maneuverability under heavy loads stays smooth.
Two years of development have made the XYZ CARGO a state-of-the-art cargo cycle , that not only lives up to any other commercial cargo cycle, but also stays an open source concept you can modify yourself.

Several modules have been developed that can be put on top of the existing XYZ CARGO to transform its functionality:
- roof and table module
- passenger seat module
- A kitchen module with table, roof and sink – transforming the XYZ CARGO to a XYZ MARKET CYCLE, a XYZ FOOD CYCLE or a XYZ COFFEE CYCLE
- A platform module – transforming the XYZ CARGO in a 1.5x3m large movable space, while from a legal point of view still staying a normal bicycle. The platform can carry different functions like a park or a small house. It can be used to reclaim public space or to repurpose parking lots for a more meaningful use. XYZ TWOSEATER
The XYZ TWOSEATER is a recumbent cargo tricycle for transporting several persons or goods. It is based on a prolonged frame of the XYZ ONESEATER, providing space for additional seats or cargo boxes.
XYZ TWOSEATER features a so called Ackermann steering geometry, to ensure controlling the vehicle at high speeds never becomes a problem. Due to the recumbent riding position and the low wind resistance, the XYZ TWOSEATER is easy to ride, even when transporting other persons or goods.

Recumbent vs. upright design: Compared to typical upright bicycles, recumbent bikes have several advantages: The person rests in a more healthy and comfortable position where the body weight is distributed more evenly than on a normal saddle. From this position pedaling power can be transmitted more efficiently. Regarding the amount of energy used for moving a bike forwards, wind resistance is one of the most significant factors: Due to the lower riding position wind resistance in a recumbent bike is minimized. In contrast to recumbent bikes, accidents with traditional bicycles often cause head injuries due to persons falling from high altitudes.

The XYZ CARGO FOURWHEELER is a quadricycle with a recumbent riding position, resulting in low wind resistance. Its narrow design and small turning radius allows for quick maneuverability inside the city. Nonetheless it can carry large and heavy goods of up to 1 Europallet in size (350 kg total weight including driver and vehicle). It comes equipped with a strong electrical motor system and suspension.
The XYZ CARGO FOURWHEELER can be used for logistics or customized for any other purpose: A wide range of functional modules are avilable, transforming them to streetfood cycles, mobile space units or vehicles for any other purpose.

The XYZ CARGO TRUCK – the bicycle truck. For the transport of heavy loads and large objects.
The four-wheeler has an asymmetrical driver position – this enables a very compact vehicle size with a maximum loading volume: up to 360kg permissible total weight and 2 Euro pallets loading capacity. Compared to other cargo bikes, the XYZ CARGO TRUCK is the bike that moves the most. The XYZ CARGO TRUCK has Ackermann steering and a small turning circle. It is spring-loaded as standard and equipped with a powerful electric motor.
Various structures and removable modules are available for the XYZ CARGO TRUCK. This means that it can be equipped as required for special applications in the commercial and private sector: kitchen superstructures, logistics containers, loading areas with eyelets, flatbed superstructures, people transport, camping attachments, etc. If required, XYZ CARGO can provide you with one Design and manufacture a structure tailored to your requirements.
